Hedge Family Farm

We are Mike and Sara Hedge! Our farm is located in Happy Valley, NC, about 40 minutes from Boone. We live to eat. We are totally obsessed with dirt, fruit, variety, colors, the joy of eating something so fresh, so delicious, that it makes you dance. We will not compromise flavor for ease. We will never use synthetic bullshit. We source all of our seeds, soil amendments, and inputs ORGANIC. And we love to talk about it!

We started our farm with absolutely no experience, just a lot of passion for plants! We got our start on a 1/2 acre land lease in 2020, expanded with another land lease in 2021, and in 2022 we bought our forever land! Since then, we have been busy planting thousands of trees, including black walnuts, oaks, redbuds, dogwoods, pawpaws, persimmons, apples, asian pears, blueberries, thornless blackberries, raspberries, hardy kiwiberries, hazelnuts, elderberries, and figs! We expect to start harvesting fruit in 2026.

We grow a large variety of seasonal vegetables on 1.5 acres, some of our specialties include salad mix (not salanova), fingerling potatoes, cherokee tan pumpkins, baby greens, lunchbox peppers, heirloom and cherry tomatoes, carrots, badger flame beets, french breakfast radishes, garlic, no-spray strawberries, and orangeglo watermelons!
